Bane Ash is a normal unique Short Staff found in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Bane Ash has a Light Green tint.

Two versions of this item exist. The updated one only drops on Ladder with Reign of the Warlock in Season 15, in Diablo II: Resurrected the original still drops, with its old stats. See everything that is Ladder-only in Season 15.

Bane Ash gives +5 to Fire Bolt at required level 5, more levels than a Sorceress can have spent by then, and 20% Faster Cast Rate, which reaches the 20% Sorceress breakpoint on its own for an 11 frame cast instead of 13. The +30 to Mana and +2 to Warmth address the other early limit, which is how often a small mana pool allows the spell to be cast at all.

Leaf takes over at required level 19 and beats it on damage in every direction. Its +3 to Fire Skills raises Fire Ball, Fire Wall and Meteor as well, and it can be made in any two socket staff, so it adds to whatever skill bonus that staff already rolled. Leaf carries no cast rate at all, so the swap puts a Sorceress back to a 13 frame cast until Magefist at required level 23.

You can upgrade Bane Ash to a Jo Staff with the following cube recipe:

1 Ral Rune + 1 Sol Rune + 1 Perfect Emerald + Bane Ash

When upgrading Bane Ash to a Jo Staff the level requirement will increase to level 23.
